Frequently asked questions
Pricing & billing
How does pricing work?
You will receive a free estimate included with your first site visit. During the initial visit, we will talk about your general plan. Sometimes more than one site visit is necessary. Next, we will create an estimate that outlines the basic plan and approximate cost. Our charges include labor time, cost of materials and minimal fees for transporting waste and delivery. The same pricing structure applies to general bed maintenance throughout the year. Keep in mind, each project and yard is different! The overall cost will be based on a variety of different factors.
What is the best time of year to set up a consultation?
The best time to call us for a consultation for projects and setting up regularly scheduled visits is in the spring, but we accept projects and new clients Spring- Fall.
Design, Service, & Maintenance
What Lawn Mowing Services Do You Offer?
If you are one of our mowing customers, we offer general lawn maintenance with each visit. This includes mowing the grass, edging, string trimming and blowing off of surfaces to keep your yard looking healthy and clean. We offer a weekly mowing service (no bi-weekly at this time). The cost of our mowing services is based on the size of your lawn and other factors on your property. You will have the option to pay an up front discounted price for the season, or you can pay on a monthly basis. We do offer a program for Fertilizer and Vegetation Control through a sub contractor as well.
Do You Offer Pruning Services?
Yes, we prune all types of trees, ornamental varieties and hedges. We can help with removal of small trees, stumps and large bushes as well. Pruning is a part of our monthly maintenance program, but can be one time service as well.
Are your plants guaranteed?
Yes, we do offer plant guarantees which cover your plants one year from the date of installation with the understanding of proper maintenance, watering and care.
Do I have to be home at time of service?
No, after we meet on site after our initial consultation or meeting you do not need to be on site at the time of any service we offer.
Why is regularly scheduled maintenance important and what does it entail?
Regularly scheduled maintenance is extremely important for your yard, garden and landscape design. Our monthly maintenance services make it easy for you to keep up with your beautiful garden without worrying. We provide weeding, pruning, bed edging, mulching, trimming, individually monitor the health of your plants, and more- with each monthly visit. Keeping up with your landscape not only helps mitigate costs in the future, but keeps your garden looking revitalized and beautiful all year round! We also offer spring and fall clean- up services.
When and where do you plant certain flowers and trees? What is the importance of adding native plants to my garden and landscape?
We have a saying here at Tazzia about planting that is “Right Plant, Right Place, Right Time.” Our experienced landscapers and gardeners will help you decide which plants will be the perfect fit for your garden spaces. From full sun, partial and shade, we can offer many plant ideas that will grow beautifully at your home. We believe in planting native plants, trees and flowers whenever possible in any garden. Plants that are native to Michigan are not only beautiful and easy to grow here, they are extremely beneficial to native pollinators and the local ecosystem!
